We are extremely proud of the work we have accomplished in the garden. However, we could not have achieved all of our goals without the amazing support we have received and continue to receive from the community and stores around Hollywood.
Our garden is located a block from Home Depot and they have been supporting us from the beginning. Most recently Home Depot donated and built a brand new pergola along with furniture and new tools
Since 2022 the garden has been collecting Starbucks coffee grounds from the coffee shop on Western & Fountain. They are a great source of nitrogen for the compost but can also applied directly to the soil. We apply a generous amount onto all our fruit trees to give them an extra boost.
The LA Conservation Corps donated our initial fruit tress for our orchard. They currently help maintain our compost piles from adding new materials along with flipping the piles. A healthy garden starts with a well managed compost.
Our Community Garden has been providing fresh produce to the local community for over 10 years. We started as a small group of passionate gardeners and have grown into a thriving community of like-minded individuals.
Our mission is to provide fresh, healthy produce to the local community while promoting sustainable gardening practices. We believe that by working together, we can create a healthier and more sustainable future for everyone.
Our garden features a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, and more. We also have a composting system and rainwater collection to promote sustainable gardening practices.
We are proud to say that every year the garden works with the UCLA Volunteer Center to be one of their sites for their big volunteer day. It is one of the university’s largest community service events.
